Join us for a fun morning of free fishing, food and prizes!

ARA is hosting their annual June Family Fishing Day at the Cameron Lake Barrier-Free Recreation Site in Pinevale, Antigonish County. This event is held on the provincial licence-free sport-fishing weekend of June 7-8th, 2025 to encourage Nova Scotian’s and newcomers to try sport-fishing and enjoy Nova Scotia’s great outdoors.

Event Details:

• 642 Pinevale Road is where things will be setup (BBQ, Water, toilet, accessible parking/ramp/dock/picnic shelter), but both the Cameron Lake and Gillis lakes are open for fishing
• No fishing license required
• Bring your own rod and bait
• Dress for the weather
• Life jackets strongly recommended for everyone especially children/youth
• Wheelchair friendly toilet on-site
• Free BBQ (hamburger/hotdogs) and water
• Free raffle tickets with multiple prizes
• Parking on-site reserved for person’s with accessibility needs
• Parking on shoulder of Pinevale Road is permitted
